As Consumer Privacy Restrictions Tighten, Developers Call For Collaboration

When Apple CEO Tim Cook testified to the House Judiciary Committee in July to defend the company against a range of anti-competition accusations, he claimed to care about fairness. In his testimony, Cook said, “We treat every developer the same. We have open and transparent rules. It’s a rigorous process … we care so deeply about privacy and security and quality.” And while Apple has made good on its claims to prioritize privacy and security, its changes within iOS 14 send a clear message to developers: In Apple’s world, developer voices are muted.
